Lakeway Spine Center strives to provide the safest, most effective, evidence-based Chiropractic care possible.
Drs. Aaron and Dr. Andrea have different areas of expertise and utilize different techniques, so they are able provide many different types of care and utilize one that will work the best for you.
They deliver gentle and effective Chiropractic treatment that is safe for each member of your family.
Here is a summary of a few of the techniques we use:
Diversified
Diversified technique is one of the quickest and safest ways to restore normal movement to the spine and other joints in the body. This technique involves using the Doctor's hands to make very gentle, specific adjustments to the spine and extremities. This type of adjustment often results in a cavitation, or "popping," of the joint.
Drop Table Technique
Drop Table Technique is a very precise Chiropractic method that uses a distinctive table with several segments called drop pieces. These segments can be raised up a fraction of an inch, so when the adjustment is delivered by the Doctor to the patient, the table will drop a fraction of an inch. The drop pieces assist the thrust while minimizing the force used for the adjustment allowing for a very gentle, yet highly effective, treatment.
McKenzie Therapy
The McKenzie method of Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy (R) is a technique used by spine specialists to treat back, neck, and extremity pain. This method is especially effective for disc pain, shooting nerve pain, and radiating numbness and tingling.
The goals of the McKenzie technique are to reduce pain quickly, help patients return to being able to function in their normal daily activities, and minimize the risk of recurring pain. Through active involvement in their care, patients quickly learn how to "read" their pain and perform successful self-treatment. Because of this, they tend to progress faster (requiring fewer visits) and are positioned to manage themselves for the long-term.
Propioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF)
PNF stretching is a therapy used to make quick gains in range of motion. It is a procedure that is a mixture of passive stretching and isometric muscle contractions. It is used by sports medicine specialists to rehabilitate sports injuries and improve athletic performance. It is also a very effective technique in helping people with stiffness and flexibility problems. Good range of motion results in better biomechanics, reduces fatigue, and helps prevent injuries.
